2015 Tournament Series

 

The East Mississippi Junior Golf Tour will initially conduct a summer tournament series consisting of 5 one day events.   The courses on the tour will remain in an approximate 45 minute radius around Meridian.   In future years the tournament series may grow to include more events in the Summer and a Spring and Fall series.   Each year our goal will be to host an area wide junior clinic as a kick off event to promote golf and the tournament series.  

 

All events are open to East Mississippi Junior Golf Tour members in good standing and invited guests when space is available. There will be an annual Membership Fee of $45 per junior.  Additionally, each tournament will have an entry fee of $30.  The 2015 season will run from June 1, 2015 to July 31, 2015. 

 

Tournaments Series Rules

 

1.  Tournaments will be conducted under the USGA Rules of Golf and appropriate Local Rules where applicable.
2.  All entries must be mailed in. No entries will be accepted over the phone.
3.  Entries must be received by Friday at 12:00 P.M. before each tournament. Any late entries will not be accepted. A player who sends in a late entry will not be guaranteed a spot in that week's tournament.
4.  Any player who does not show for a tournament without a valid excuse such as injury, sickness, family emergency, etc. will forfeit their entry fee and may be subject to suspension.
5.  All ties during tournaments will be broken using the USGA rules.
6.  Players must use equipment that conforms to the specifications set forth by the USGA.
7.  Yardage Measuring Devices will be allowed.
8.  Players will be allowed a 15 minute stoppage of play due to medical emergency.
9.  All players must walk.  Caddies are allowed only for ages 9 & Under. The player must carry his/her own bag (pull carts are allowed). No motorized transportation may be used by any player at any point during the course of play.
10.  Parents and spectators will remain on the cart path at all times and are not permitted to "coach" or "advise" players at any time during the round.
11.  A player may not withdraw from a competitive round without permission from a Tournament Official or good cause such as injury, illness, or family crisis. Any player withdrawing from a competitive round without just cause is subject to suspension of one tournament.

 

Conduct

 

1.  Club throwing and abusive language of any kind will not be tolerated.
2.  There will be absolutely NO use of any alcoholic or tobacco-like products by any player.
3.  Proper attire is required in and around the clubhouse, the practice facilities, and the golf course. The following are prohibited: short shorts, t-shirts, and jeans. Collared shirts must be worn and remain tucked-in at all times. Hats that are worn must be worn turned to the front.
4.  The tournament staff, players, and spectators will all abide by and be respectful of each golf club/courses’ rules and regulations.
5.  Failure to abide by these rules and any other set forth by the course and/or East Mississippi Junior Golf Tour may lead to disqualification and possible expulsion from the junior tour.
